Fort Worth Dental Checkup – What To Expect

At perfect Dental we’re proud to be helping you look after your teeth. For this reason, we encourage you to come for a Fort Worth dental check-up every 6 months. This ensures good dental hygiene is maintained, but also, any problems found, can be dealt with early, saving you both money and time.

So what does a dental check-up involve?

Whether it’s your first dental check-up with us or your first check-up in years, there are certain procedures we follow to ensure proper maintenance of your smile. These include…

Digital X-rays

These are an essential part of your Fort Worth dental check-up and are taken so that our team can get a quick and accurate representation of the entire oral structure of your mouth. Digital X-rays are safer, faster, and easier and can be screened straight to an awaiting PC or laptop for our team to view.

Oral cancer screening

At Perfect Dental we believe in the importance of being able to detect early on any pre-cancerous and cancerous conditions in our patients. For this reason, we’ll conduct oral cancer screening. After asking you questions about any changes in your medical history and your lifestyle habits such as smoking and drinking, we’ll begin by looking for white or red patches or unusual sores located on the inside of the mouth, lips, and tongue. We’ll also check your head and neck area as part of the comprehensive screening process. The whole screening process takes just a few minutes and is always part of your regular dental check-up.

Professional teeth cleaning

Whether you’re a first-timer or a regular, a dental check-up will always include a professional teeth clean. The reason for this is that it’s more than likely that you’ll have some tartar build-up in and around your teeth. Unfortunately, when plaque turns to tartar it isn’t possible to remove it through brushing alone. Instead, it needs the help of a professional clean. However, before we start our Fort Worth dentist will examine your teeth with a small mirror checking for any signs of abnormalities. Once complete our dentist will remove any excess plaque/tartar using a tool called a scaler. Next floss is used in and around every tooth to remove any unwanted plaque or food particles. Finally, our Fort Worth dentist will polish up your teeth using a gentle tooth polisher.

Our Happy Patients

"Really great staff!!! I walked in with pain and left feeling so much better. They took x-rays with my little girl safely in the next room where I could hear her watching TV. Then the doctor came in and gave me a treatment plan, which includes me seeing an oral surgeon and overdue cleaning. The staff is so KNOWLEDGEABLE and FRIENDLY they all get an A++ from me. I definitely recommend going there for dental care."

"My boyfriend needed emergency dental care due to an unfortunate cricket accident. Via 1800 dentist, Perfect Dental not knowing the full extent of his dental needs, was able and willing to see him as a new patient within 1 hour of our call on a Saturday afternoon when most dentist offices were closed. The staff and dentist were sympathetic and made him feel at ease immediately. The office was pleasant and clean. Each room had a tv that included Netflix and an array of viewing options for the patients. Overall it was a wonderful experience and Perfect Dental is now his official dentist."
